Capstones at Texas A&M University are a year long, self led project combining one's major, interests, and passions. In a service scholar capstone, the student utilizes community service to incorporate these ideals and to see how their values and ideas relate to community issues. For my service scholars capstone, myself along with the Honors Housing Community chose the Brazos Valley Food Bank as our philanthropic organization to support for this year. As a member of the team in charge of setting up this philanthropy, we will be going as a group to volunteer at the Food Bank, as well as host a semester long food drive in the dorms that focuses on giving back to our local community.
